Queens, NY
The solar activity (coronal mass ejections or CMEs / solar winds) was particularly strong tonight, which caused some strong magnetic storms (disturbances in the magnetic field) on Earth. Aurora borealis was visible across much of New York State. I saw a pinkish / purplish hue in the sky, facing in the northward direction. The iPhone camera was able to pick up more of the colors.
Blanquito, the leucistic semipalmated plover. I was told about his general presence by a worker. He has returned here each August for 5 years. He overwinters in the same area in Maldonado, Uruguay.

Great Horn preys on Ground squirrel while being pestered and ridden by a smaller bird(possibly a goldfinch?).
10th burrow for the second day. Good photos of all 6 baby burrowing owls.
Just as I was about to fall asleep, I heard the owl call. It called for around 30 minutes and it sounded like it moved at least once. Around 2:30 I saw it fly away.
It started and stopped calling around the same time as the previous night, but it sounded a little closer.
After months of listening, I finally heard the owl! As I was finishing getting ready for bed, I heard a consistent rhythm, and realized it was the owl. I quickly finished what I was doing, then I went outside. It called only once, then stopped.

Melanistic. Finally saw one! It was peeling off bark.

Bird on the left. The harrier attempted to steal the owl's meal, however the vole was dropped in the attack.
Caught a fish and was attacked by a red-shouldered hawk. Fended off the hawk and ate the fish. Hawk observation is https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/194751662.
It was on the ground, and we both startled each other. It flew up into the tree and constantly looked around. It was gone 40 minutes later.

Why is it color green? Update, looked for hours multiple days after the 13th of August in Oak Openings with no luck, as I figured. Sent photos to some universities trying to gain some knowledge.

(2)97. A park ranger had the Condor Spotter app and she looked it up. She was born on April 9, 2003 at the World Center for Birds of Prey. She is currently paired with 123, has 1 offspring (1235), and 47 siblings. After flying around, she landed on the ledge and was joined by another condor (maybe 1235).

Not sure if the trees can be IDed any further.
Búho cornudo defendiéndose de un zorro gris
Brilliant fuchsia colored gall on petiole of Eastern Black Walnut. When I first noticed that splash of color, I thought it might be a hairy scrunchie or some other human accessory.
Six fledglings
I heard a baby grackle call loudly outside, and when I went to the door, it was right there on the mat. When I went to grab my camera, it had moved to the edge. It then kept flying at the windows before flying away.
