Snorkelled in two areas of Bawean Island. Unfortunately had water in the camera casing close to Chinese Island but got many good pictures near Gili Noku. Highlight was a large sea turtle.

In the thousand islands north of Jakarta. The whole area around the island is sand bank which drifts over the coral found there. The first day I explored the sandy area and got a lot of seaweed, small coral, and small fish and sponges. The second day I visited the coral reef they are trying to revive.

Just returned from a week snorkelling in Raja Ampat. Will gradually be adding pictures. My camera is being difficult so not sure how many came out.

Giliketapan is just off the coast of Probolinggo and the coral is badly eroded. The island is densely inhabited and the fishermen have a history of harvesting coral for building supplies. Currently, the island is trying to protect and clean the coral and much of it is in a reseeded bed which is off limit for 10 years. I saw the areas they use for tourists to try to prove protecting the coral is worth more than building with it. Water quality was poor.

The coral was amazing, and the water was so clear. Really great pictures. I'd like to go back for more than one day.

The mantas were amazing, and the corals were awesome.

I've been in Bali for work after some weeks of lockdown, so decided to spend some time hiking and snorkelling. I'm getting better at using my Camera

Sadly, the beautiful coral forests were decimated by the typhoon in 2018, and are now beginning to recover. The pictures aren't as good as they should be because I had a bad setting, but it was still a lovely variety of fish. This was my first chance to snorkel after breaking my leg in November.
