I'm an amateur bird watcher, but am also interested in the diversity of life around us. I am curious as to why a road-killed armadillo has more appeal to carrion eaters than a nearby road-killed possum. I want to know why we have such a variety of mushrooms on our 10 acres. And what the heck are those spiky looking "weeds"?

I work as a professional musician, I enjoy knitting, I like to travel, especially road trips. I will read just about anything, and am curious about everything. I am not a scientist, though am gifted at seeing links and making observations which lead to research. Nice to have my opinions backed by competent authorities. I believe in citizen science, in rare disease research, in the power of social media (good and bad, though I focus on the good).
