Graduated from St Petersburg University, Entomology Dept. (1992), Ph. D. in History of Science (SI Vavilov Institute for the History of Science and Technology, 2005). In 1990-2009 taught Entomology and elementary Biology in an Youth entomology club in St Petersburg.
