I am an ecologist by training now retired from full time employment. I was employed in scientific research roles with CSIRO Australia (1978-1995) and with Australian governments (primarily with the Commonwealth and the Australian Capital Territory) in senior policy officer roles (1997-2018). My professional expertise is broadly defined as ecology and natural resource management. Qualifications: Dip. Agr. Sci. (Longerenong); B.Appl.Sci (Canberra CAE); M.Res.Env St. (Australian National University). I have entertained a life-long interest in natural history, especially in ornithology and Lepidoptera (moths and butterflies). I am currently a contributor and moderator for moth identification with Canberra Nature Map (ACT) and Budawang Coast Nature Map (NSW) two regionally-based online citizen science interactive databases in the NatureMapr stable of databases accepting photographic observations for peer-reviewed curation. I have recently expanded my interest in moth observations and identification to beyond the ACT and Budawang Coast areas to other Australian regions including outback Queensland (e.g. Carnarvon Station Reserve). I therefore seek to add these more recent observations from Queensland to a suitably curated database such as iNaturalist.
