I am an educator with particular interest in ecology and diversity. I have collected insects since 2000, but only since becoming aware of iNaturalist have I started photographing plants, insects, birds, and other animals. (Thank you, @jmmaes, for making that initial connection!)

I am currently working on a project to generate a list of insect species at a local park (Oak Grove Park) in Sioux County, Iowa. A major focus to date has been on pitfall trapping and collection of Carabidae, although I have developed an affinity for Pselaphinae as a result of the bycatch from our trap collections. Hopefully future student research assistants can contribute to our insect list by adding additional collecting methods or taxa.

I have previously studied Carabidae in central and southern Alberta, Canada.
