I'm a retired attorney who loves to hike. My dad was a biology professor at a small college in Western PA and the local expert on all things nature in our small town. Although my father instilled a love of nature in all five of his kids, I pretty much treated him as Google and let him identify what we were looking at on our frequent hikes and camping trips. (I was a foolish kid - in one ear, out the other.) I've decided its time for me to figure out what all these wonderful trees, plants, birds, and animals I've been observing for so many years are called. I have been encouraged to use iNaturalist by my much more knowledgeable friends on our community Peregrine Falcon team.
