I am an entomological enthusiast who has been identifying insects for ~5 years and wanted to start contributing to INaturalist! I received my undergraduate degree in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability from Colorado State University with a minor in Entomology. I continued on to complete my master's degree in Bioagricultural Science with a specialization in Entomology and Pest Management advised by Dr. Whitney Cranshaw. I work closely with the C. P. Gillette Entomology Museum of Arthropod Diversity, was employed as a Teaching Assistant for both terrestrial and aquatic entomology laboratories taught by Dr. Boris Kondratieff and was an officer and president of the Gillette Entomology Club (2015-2020).

I now currently work as a Plant Health Care Technician for Designs by Sundown in Littleton, Colorado. In this role I am able to use my insect ID skills to help local residents better manage their turf, trees, and garden landscapes.

I am the proud owner and curator of the Miller Museum of Entomological Wonder. The museum revolutionizes the ways and means of curating insects by sticking to rigorous standards, including climate data, habitat data and geolocation in a user friendly database. I am also the primary respondent for QuickBugID, a resource that provides quick feedback and information on common pests in an attempt to reduce the desire to spray unnecessary pesticides in urban and suburban environments. In an effort to support the longevity of entomology, I have challenged myself to take photos, make observations, and be less quick to collect what may potentially be a thinning resource.

My first entomological love was ants. They inspired me to pursue the study of insects and discover a love for insect diversity. I wrote an updated checklist of the ants of Colorado which has been deposited at the C. P. Gillette Museum of Arthropod Diversity. My Master's project focused on controlling Hemp Russet Mites and other associated pests on industrial hemp using CO2 to create anoxic environments. I am also working on the publication of the Patterson LLC Biological Catalogue, which covers all biological components of an old dairy farm property located in Lew Beach, New York.

*Note: My Fiancé is the better photographer and also uploads observations to this account in addition to my content. She currently operates as the Social Media Chair for the Miller Museum.
