Pacific Northwest master naturalist living and working in Costa Rica and the Pacific Northwest including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and California. I teach university and high school classes about mammalogy, and NW field botany, comparative vertebrate anatomy, and introductory biology.
My most recent naturalistic obsession has been lichen! They have become the star organisms in my winter nature photography walks. Always looking to learn more about their identification and biology!
My doctoral work focused on the functional morphology, behavior, and biomechanics of bird flight and non-vocal alarm signaling.
