  • Land Management & Recreation
  • Education & Events

Stowe Land Trust owns and manages five properties across 350 acres, all of which are open to the public.

  1. Wiessner Woods: Located on Edson Hill Rd in Stowe, this property contains a mature hardwood and softwood forest including species like hemlock, spruce, white pine, maple, beech and birch. Trails on this property are open for walking, hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. See if you can find the Gnome Home out on the trails!
  2. Mill Trail: Located on Notchbrook Road in Stowe, the Mill Trail property has a unique cabin built in Moravian style. Open houses with our Summer Naturalist will be held here during the summer and are a great way to learn more about the natural and cultural history of the land.
  3. Kirchner Woods: Located on Taber Hill Road in Stowe, this site was an active sugarbush until the early 1990's. Along with trails open to pedestrian and bike access, there are still remnants sugaring history ready to be explored.
  4. Page Forest: Located in Sterling Valley adjacent to the town-owned Sterling Forest and Mt. Mansfield State Forest. This 99 acre property is open for hiking, skiing, and mountain biking and can be accessed from the Sterling Gorge Parking lot.
  5. DuMont Meadow: Located in Nebraska Valley in Moscow, this unique property has both forest and meadow, and provides access to the Little River.
