Fungus Among Us at Caddo Lake WMA

Before the weather got bad this weekend, I went to Caddo Lake WMA to hunt fungi. I found several species that I haven't seen before, but that's normal for a mushroom outing because there are so many species! How many? Well, here is an article about David Lewis, a naturalist who has found 550 species on his 60-acre property! Wow! https://www.texasobserver.org/fungi-town/

In other mushroom news, a new book that focuses on the fungi of the southeast has been published. I haven't bought it yet, but it's on my wish list. https://www.amazon.com/dp/160469730X/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I3NQDTV2NFN2V&colid=1LN8GGF6MRTFH&psc=0

Since it's going to rain all this week, I plan on going to the Lake O' the Pines area to find more mushrooms.

Interesting article on David Lewis. Especially love the photo of him prone on the ground to get that perfect shot!
