Basking with Red-eared Slider. This looks like the Midland subspecies, which I've seen here before. Apparently introduced, where it occurs along with the native Western Painted Turtles.

Tingley Beach Lagoon fishing ponds. Little Blue Heron night-roosting with dozens of Cattle Egrets in trees on island; also a Neotropic Cormorant rookery here. The heron and egrets flew just before sun was up. Seen by many birders.

These nonnative Poppies are popping up again throughout Albuquerque as they have been each April for at least the last 5 years.
