Chizarira National Park

Chizarira is Zimbabwe’s third-largest National Park and one of its last-remaining great wildernesses, but it has suffered a series of blows from fires, poaching and the destruction of almost all their infrastructure (ALERT). It had, arguably, the country’s best Black Rhino population before they were poached out, and the pressures of fire and expanding human populations continue to exert great pressure on this park of diverse scenic splendour. The headquarters were destroyed in the late 1970s, with the loss of invaluable research records.
