Chrysomya inclinata Walker 1861

This is one of three South African species with the anterior wing margin black/strongly infuscated.

  • Anterior spiracle white
  • Genae golden
  • Proepimeral seta present
  • Eyes in male touching; without demarcation between dorsal and ventral facets
  • Eyes in female separated at vertex by about 0.5 times eye-width, but frons conspicuously narrowed on lower half, fronto-orbital plate entirely black
  • Scutum totally bluish-black coloured

Distribution in southern Africa: Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa (coast from KZN to Eastern Cape)
