Join our biodiscovery project, now in its 8th year. Count up the wild and naturalized species you can discover in your everyday life wherever you are, compare what you see with others, and give and get help identifying unknown species. You can be a beginner or expert, everyone is welcome.
Project Website: http://tinyurl.com/PersonalBioblitz
When? 76 days, 1 March to 15 May 2021, 24/7, anywhere in the world.
The goal is to see if we together can see more species and report more observations than during previous Bioblitzes. You can also take on the goal individually and challenge your friends in the project - who will see the most, report the most birds, etc. We will report on both community and individuals goals after the Personal Bioblitz is over. See website for previous year's results.
How? See, discover, photograph or listen, upload to iNaturalist, share, identify, learn.
Why? Learn more about what species live around you - birds, plants, millipedes, algae, fungi, insects, mollusks, mammals…
Who? Anybody at or associated in ANY WAY with someone at Rutgers University (students, faculty, alumni, friends, friends of friends, family, colleagues, including online friends). We invite people to join from around the globe!
What? Any wild and naturalized species anywhere in the world that you personally experience (special rules apply, see our website, link above).
