An adult in a fir across (S. side) of the Rogue River. Harassed by an Osprey.
I've never seen more than two of these moths at once. Hundreds were on this building, probably attracted by the light, which was on all day.
This beauty, dove straight down from a tree, swooping very low passing close to my windows to land on the fence. It was flitty and skittish — looking left to right — left to right; up and down, and in a minute tore off. What I was most aware if were its eyes. Even without the camera I could see the eyes. A reaction to the low sun? Small pupils jazzed by the hunt? What I do know is I have 2 cooper’s that visit daily: a brown and a blue-grey. The blue-grey has vibrant red-orange eyes. Can I really have a third Coopie? Seems a lot of hawkish-ness going on in a small area!
