This female plant, though now in a mown nature strip in a settled area, has a trunk just short of 2m, is likely to be of considerable age, may predate clearing/settlement of the site, which is a low-lying sand-spit that would have supported dune forest dominated by Eucalyptus botryoides (still present) and this cycad. An epiphytic Pittosporum undulatum is growing from its trunk as well as various ferns.
