Pitfall trap set in back corner of garden under lots of trees and hedges next to a large compost bin. Darker colouring
Found on tube worm cap. Approx 9 mm long.
This individual was in a pitfall trap that was set out at the time given in the observation and taken in on the morning of May 2, 2024.
There was at least one freezing night and one rainy day during the time the trap was out. It was placed between two shrubs in a yard with a few trees. The soil was hard and fairly bare in the trap’s location.

Pitfall trap with metal tent was set up in quite hard, dry soil beneath a Fatsia japonica, camellia and another unknown plant awaiting ID. There was a lot of leaf litter, some of which fell in the trap. The final evening before collection there was some rain, but otherwise the weather was clear. Temperatures ranged from
16°-24° (high) and -3°-4° (low).
