So cool! I was like roses do not make fruit like this, what is this thing? It must be a gall or some other kind of parasite! 🖤🖤
Funny how this small, stunted patch of roses is the only place I saw these galls (yet there are other larger patches of roses), and lots of them. Could the preponderance of galls stunt the plants?
Argh! Recent techno hell: my phone has stopped recording exact GPS coordinates on photos for some reason. All photos from today were located in one spot on Hicks Road, even though they were actually taken along Mt Umunhum trail. So the location for this is imprecise.
On Rosa spithamea. One of at least 2 dozen in one area. No others found between this tenth of a mile of trail and the Bald Mountain parking area.
