Non staining pores, spit test very bitter
Mild odor and taste. Largest cap 8.8. A iNat mystery: The first of these mushrooms that I saw was upended and next to an appropriately 16 inch hole in the leaf litter. As I looked further there were many such scratched or dug out areas of the leaf litter many of them with an upended mushroom of this variety. None of the mushrooms were nibbled on or otherwise damaged in any way. The pictures ones were the only ones I found still in situ. The area of disturbance w mushrooms was limited to under just one tree. What was going on ?
Mild odor and taste. Largest cap 12 cm. Edge of cap sticky to slimy rest of cap and stem dry.
