Found on the underside of a softball sized rock, about 6 inches below the water surface near the Manfield Dam Park boat ramp. The mussel held very securely to the rock surface. Edge of shells was sharp to the touch. Paired shells sat flat on base when removed from the rock. The lake level seemed higher than usual, though was down substantially from the record flooding experienced at this site in October.
