This plant was pretty common around the park, but only this one (that we passed) was at the right stage of flowering to attract insects. There were heaps of these small (maybe 4mm?) Empidids landing on the flowers briefly, then moving off.

Among undisturbed native scrub. Messmate stringybark and brown stringybark dominate the forest canopy. In the forest understorey there are many spring-flowering shrubs, including myrtle-leaved wattle, beaked hakea and large-leaved bush-pea.
On sandy clay soil with quartzite and sandstone outcrops.
