As I walked to class from my off-campus house today, I traversed through a trail in my route. On this trail, I stumbled upon several tree trunks with fungi growing on them. Today was a very cold, overcast day, so it was difficult finding fungi. Once I did, however, I was very surprised by the intricate detail and shape that each fungi had. The Turkey-Tail, for example, definitely captured my attention with its colors and design. As I made my way to campus, I also walked through the Pine Tree Preserve at Boston College. Walking through here, I payed close attention to the ground, and was lucky enough to find three mushrooms. It was definitely hard finding these fungi lurking around much larger species of plants, but I was certainly impressed by what I saw.
