Found this little ground beetle (Carabidae) under a rock. 4 mm

Found under a piece of bark in front garden.

In neighbor's tree - but seen from our yard (so it counts)

On spruce stump

#30 A biting Midge, no-see-um, or punkie (Ceratopogonidae)

I found this male on the side of the shed. (~ 2.5 mm)

It's the first I've seen of this family that I've seen in the yard
(#500 on the taxa list)

#31 Neoneides muticus (a stilt bug)

I netted this one while it was flying in the backyard. (10 mm)

A surprise visitor this morning below the feeders.
