We are the Bass Strait Maritime Centre, based in Devonport, Tasmania.

Objects, images and interactive displays explore themes of the natural history of Bass Strait and its islands, European exploration, settlement, early shipbuilders and entrepreneurs, shipwrecks, the impact of steam, creation of the Port City of Devonport and naval history.

Educational and public programming reflects current exhibition themes, including the current temporary exhibition based on Bass Strait's natural history and its change over time right up to modern day.
