I consider myself an amateur ecologist and native plant enthusiast, largely rooted in my interest in "backyard habitat" and learning how humans can return to ecological harmony with the land. I do not believe the science of ecology or the practice of restoration can be separated from the struggle against capitalism and colonialism, which are the structural root and continuing drivers of anti-ecological human "development" and environmental degradation.
