I am a retired museum director and former businessman. My roots are in the swamps and forests of west Tenn. From commercial fishing to digging ginseng, and chasing down champion trees, I have run the gauntlet of outdoor pursuits. Today I manage our family forest, serve as a river guide, and enjoy "botanizing" every chance it get.
