I moved to Cambria, CA, from Boston in 2002 and started volunteering at Cambria Grammar School. Bringing shells and other finds from the beach and intertidal area to the children has been a privilege. Doing research to learn about the ecological systems and specific flora, fauna, and rocks along the central coast has been a joy. The photos help bring images of living creatures to the children, because, as I tell them, "I don't want to take the live creatures from their home."
