After many years as a research biologist, working on tropical freshwater fish, seahorses & their relatives and Antarctic marine conservation, I retrained as a high school biology teacher. I live in Tasmania & I spent 10 years trying to get school students interested in their local flora & fauna. I volunteer at the Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery trying to identify various hymenopteran families.
I have a keen interest in many different taxa, but a special place in my heart for native orchids, jumping spiders and wasps.
