I consider myself an amateur naturalist, with a particular interest in plants, and am based in Seattle. I spend a lot of time in the mountains year-round. love to hike and scramble and backpack, often with The Mountaineers, which means I spend a lot of time looking down at my feet and around me, and love to identify what I see, spot new things. Finally actually seeing what I've noticed browsing through guides and websites gives me great pleasure. I discovered iNaturalist only recently (April '19), while traveling in Andalusia and being frustrated by not being able to identify all the fascinating new plants. What a resource!
