I've always had an interest in the natural world, we had bug collections as kids and caught frogs in the local pond. When I discovered the range of bird species we actually get here in NS I became very interested in identifying birds and quickly became an avid birder (use eBird for observations: https://ebird.org/profile/MTAxOTkwMQ/world).

I started taking pictures of and identifying dragonflies in 2019, getting my first field guide the end of that year. Since then I have been very keen on Odes including hiking out to remote bogs in search of specific species in 2024. I even developed a website to help people get started with Nova Scotia dragonflies: https://novascotiadragonflies.wordpress.com/

I'm an artist, photographer, naturalist and am branching out into more things all the time, butterflies, native plants, etc.
