I’m Theivaprakasham H, a naturalist from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and I’ve devoted nearly a decade to studying the butterflies of the Western Ghats. My passion lies in understanding the intricate details of their life stages, particularly the immature phases. I co-founded The Nature and Butterfly Society (TNBS) to bring together like-minded individuals who share a love for nature and a desire to protect it.

Currently, I’m pursuing my PhD in Artificial intelligence at the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands. I also work as a Freelance AI Consultant, exploring how technology can intersect with conservation efforts. My work as a wildlife researcher has led me to focus not only on butterflies but also on birds, and I’ve had the privilege of contributing articles and book chapters that reflect my years of research.

One of my most exciting projects involves collaborating with experts from Greece, Poland, and the UK to develop AI-based software for wildlife conservation. I’m also actively engaged with State Forest departments. I lead butterfly surveys and create awareness about these beautiful creatures among forest communities, students, and the broader public through outreach programs. This work allows me to combine my love for nature and drive to make a tangible difference in conservation.
