I am an avid naturalist and amateur photographer. I am based in the eastern Melbourne suburbs and grew up in West Gippsland. As such I am quite experienced in identifying birds and mammals (my favourites) of the wetter regions of Victoria. I am a scientist by trade (soil/contaminated land is my game) but I did study palaeontology and zoology at university as well.

I am happy to have a crack at identification however I am the first to admit I am not perfect, so feel free to point me in the right direction. After all we never stop learning!
