General Comments on Observations

The observations are looking great! Welcome Angela and Eric I hope to see all of the Interns join our project. The more observations, the more we can share the rich diversity of life in our area of the world.

If you have more than one photo of a plant or animal, you can add all of them to the same observation. When you add the first photo, there will be a large plus sign (+) to the right of your photo. Click on the PLUS sign to add additional photos. Please let me know if you have trouble doing this.

I also encourage you to take numerous photos of insects and spiders. Try to get at least one shot that shows the top side clearly. This is very important for identification. A side or underneath shot is also valuable when possible. Try to make a habit of recording approximate body lengths with and without adding the legs. On spiders, it is extremely valuable to know the Total Body Length (TBL). It doesn't matter whether you measure in the English or the Metric System. However, on smaller creatures, the metric system can be easier than using fractions of an inch.

Again, welcome!! Please yell at me if you have any questions, concerns, frustrations, etc. I will do my best to help. ENJOY!!

Melanie
