Photographing Plants for Observation

I have contacted a couple of our chapter plant experts for assistance with plant identifications. They made a couple of good suggestions for all of us.

They said you want to show as many aspects of the plant as possible. Take multiple photos. Show:

  • a close-up of the leaf and stem.
  • the flower and include the underparts of the flower. (More than 1 photo!)
  • the shape of a tree
  • bark on a tree
  • any comments about whether it is a bush, a small tree, a large tree, a vine, etc.
  • the habitat where it was found

Don't forget. You can add multiple photos to a single identification.

Hope this helps!
